Some may say that it is ridiculously egocentric to write a serious history of a fan work, or to make much of our single parody-dub, when there are other, more prolific groups that have produced many memorable videos. Nevertheless, \bFast Food Freedom Fighters\b is popular enough to have developed a cult following of its own. IÆve attended screenings at conventions at which people actually spoke the dialogue as it was playing, chanting "Fast foodÆs bad! Fast food kills!" right along with Maki, and probably straining their ears trying to understand the dialogue in the places where the sound quality drops. If it continues to be screened, I wouldnÆt be surprised if people start making up "audience participation" dialogue α la \bRocky Horror!\b I was even more impressed and flattered to learn of another otaku who has taken it upon himself to re-master the video track of \b4F,\b a task with which I am pleased to offer my assistance. Although a \bfull\b remaster (including audio) is not in the foreseeable future, I wouldnÆt discount the possibility.
Here, then, is the next best thing to a remastered audio track: A complete script, accurately transcribed from the video itself with the aid of a co-producerÆs ear and pages of original script, with over 100 annotations, giving background information, production details, and explaining some of the more obscure or regional jokes.
I have done my best to be thorough in this, not only for the benefit of the viewer, but to write out my experiences and memories of its production before they fade from my mind. I hope you, the reader, find it illuminating and entertaining. Thanks for watching.
